Grapes: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting notes: Vanilla, liquorice and black currant jam on the nose. Smooth and elegant. Medium-bodied and soft tannins.
Formed in 1862, the vineyards consist of seven parcels on the southern slopes of the Pomerol plateau. The Chateau recently won awards ranking it alongside the great Pomerol estates. The wine is a traditional blend of Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc and is aged up to 20 months in oak barrels. The palate is dominated by ripe berry fruit characteristics intermingled with spicy new oak. A good length with plenty of character.
This wine’s ideal pair is our pan-seared Australian beef tenderloin.
